Araya, Ricardo

Ricardo Araya is Professor of Psychiatry at the Academic Unit of Psychiatry of the University of Bristol. His research interests include the aetiology of common mental disorders, in particular psychosocial factors associated with anxiety and depression. Social, demographic, and economic inequalities and their link to the mental health of the population with special emphasis on international comparisons. Effective treatments for common mental disorders, in particular simple interventions using non-medical workers and strong community participation.
