Session Goulet, Lauren

Lauren ("Loi") is a doctoral candidate at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on communication technologies and social networks. In her dissertation work Lauren explores how social network site use and user mobility are associated with the geographic dispersion of social support. She has published articles in the Journal of Communication, First Monday, and Information, Communication & Society and has coauthored a Pew Internet & American Life Project report.

Lauren received her B.A. in Sociology, summa cum laude, from Tufts University, and her M.A. in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to working on her PhD she worked in technology research and consulting at Forrester Research and at JSI Research and Training Institute.

Unrelated to her studies, she is a member of the Wharton Crew team.
