Sabine Saurugger is Professor of Politics and Research Director at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques (IEP) of Grenoble (France). She has studied political science at the University of Vienna and the Free University of Berlin and obtained her PhD at the IEP de Paris in 2001. She has taught at the IEP in Lille, the University of Oxford and Lausanne and is a visiting professor at  the Université libre de Bruxelles.

Her research focuses mainly on business interest groups in the European Union and the transformation of national representation systems through both European integration and globalisation.

Furthermore she is co-founder and director of the journal Politique européenne and member of the board of the Revue française de sciences politique,  the Journal of European Public Policy and Pouvoirs. Recently, she completed a special issue of Politique européenne on “Les groupes d'intérêt et l'Union européenne”, 7, Spring 2002.
