Gabriele D'Annunzio University of Chieti and Pescara

The "Gabriele d'Annunzio" University of Chieti-Pescara was first instituted as an independent university in 1960, it  was located in the medieval township of Chieti and comprised only few faculties. In 1982 it gained the status of national university and has grown and is continuing to grow exponentially since then.
The President of the University is Professor Franco Cuccurrullo and the Director General is Dr. Marco Napoleone. Both are committed to the promotion of valid training and education programs and the transmission of culture via theoretical and experiential learning.
    Currently it boasts twelve faculties and is located on two campuses: one at Madonna delle Piane, at the foot of the old township of Chieti, and another on the Adriatic coastal town of Pescara. The faculties of Pharmacy; Letters and Philosophy; Medicine; Psychology; Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences; Educational Sciences and Social Sciences are situated on the Chieti Campus while Architecture, Foreign Languages and Literatures; Economics and Management are situated on the Pescara Campus; both campuses are readily accessible by road and public transport.
    Nationally and internationally acclaimed facilities also constitute part of the University, they are: the Center of Excellence for Aging Sciences (Ce.S.I.); the Institute of Advanced Biomedical Technologies (ITAB); the Center for Continuing Education (CEDUC); the "G. d'Annunzio" University Foundation; and the Leonardo da Vinci On-line Distance University which grew from inspiration of the "G. d'Annunzio" University.
    However, academia is not the University's only priority, both sporting and cultural recreation are on-going concerns. Sporting needs are catered to by the University Sports Centre (CUS). The University Chorale Society, the Recreational Club (CRAD) and the Biomedical Sciences Museum  are instrumental in satisfying cultural needs of students and staff.
    Furthermore, the "G. d'Annunzio" diligently fosters Internationalization in Europe and beyond the confines of European Union borders with learning and research exchange programs for both students and staff.
    The "Gabriele d'Annunzio" University openly extends a warm welcome to all EU and non-EU potential students and places at the disposal of the international learning community all its student services including the Student Records' Offices and the Orientation Office.
