Aarhus University, Department of Economics

The Aarhus University Department of Economics employs academic staff, PhD students and administrative staff - in total 35-40 persons. Many of them are foreign researchers. Besides, a number of part-time staff and teaching assistants are attached to the department. The department also typically hosts a number of visitors from abroad for short or longer periods.

Teaching

The department offers a wide range of courses at all academic levels, i.e. the Diploma, BA, Master and PhD levels.

Research

The department gives high priority to research at an international level, and members of the department focus on ranked international research outlets, a high share of external research funding and are engaged in a variety of national and international network cooperations. Our research is primarily focused on applied economics and it is organized in three prioritized research areas.

Publications

The department gives high priority to publication in leading academic journals. The members of the department produce a large number of publications; they can be seen at the researchers' staff pages or in the ASB Research Database. The department has its own Working Paper Series.

Conferences, workshops etc.

The department organizes many conferences and workshops - alone or togehter with collaborators, and we have our own series of seminars. The members of the department also participate actively in disseminating research results to the interested public and the society at large.
