The Work Pensions and Labour Economics (WPEG) conference 2006 will take place at the University of Kent, Canterbury, from lunchtime Monday July 10 to lunchtime Wednesday July 12, inclusive. Keynotes speakers include: Tony Atkinson (Oxford University), Janet Currie (UCLA) and Ron Oaxaca (University of Arizona).
Call for papers
The WPEG Programme Committee invites submissions of papers from academic, government, and business economists in any subject area of labour economics and/or welfare-to-work, skills, disability, pensions, extending working lives, discrimination, housing, and poverty, for the General Sessions. Proposals for the organisation of Special Sessions on Specific Topics are also welcome.
General Sessions: Papers are invited in any subject area related to labour economics and/or welfare-to-work, skills, disability, pensions, extending working lives, discrimination, housing, poverty. Preferably, an electronic version (PDF) of the paper should be sent by February 28 2006 to Karen Mumford at [email protected]. Those who cannot submit electronically should send two hard copies of their paper to Karen Mumford at the address below: only completed papers will be considered. Each submitted paper should nominate a corresponding author. The paper should include the email address of the corresponding author and an Abstract, JEL Classification number(s) and up to 5 Key Words. Submitting authors should not act as a corresponding author for more than one paper.

Notification of acceptance will be sent by the end of April 2006.
Proposed Entire Sessions: Proposals for organising sessions on specific topics are invited. The proposals should be no more than a one-page outline and should specify the session theme and the name of the individual who would be responsible for the organisation of the session. The proposals should also indicate why the session might be of interest at the WPEG2006 Conference. Names of all authors of proposed papers should be included in the proposal. Session proposals should be sent by 14 February 2006 to Dr Karen Mumford by email (in Word or PDF format) to [email protected]. The selection of the invited sessions to be included in the Conference Programme will be made by the Conference Committee.
At the Conference, no author should present more than one paper.
