Applied Microeconometrics and Public Policy Conference

The National University of Ireland, Galway is pleased to announce a call for papers for the Applied Microeconometrics and Public Policy Conference which will be held on Tuesday July 3, 2012. The keynote speaker is Professor William Greene (New York University). Please click here for full details. Selected completed manuscripts submitted to the 2012 conference will be put forward for a special thematic edition of The Economic and Social Review to follow after the conference.

 

The organizers welcome the submission of papers or abstracts for papers for inclusion in the program in the areas of: Health Economics, Economics of Ageing, Environmental and Agricultural Economics, Labor Economics, Economics of Education, Poverty and Inequality, Migration and Demography, Welfare, Taxation and Pensions.

Submissions. Researchers who are interested in participating in the conference should submit a copy of the paper they would like considered for the program, or a one page abstract if the paper is not complete, no later than april 17, 2012. Information on how to submit a completed manuscript or abstract is available on the conference website. The abstract should be no more than 200 words and the paper should be in PDF format.  Decisions on submissions will be made in early April, and the conference program will be finalized shortly thereafter.

Registration.  A conference registration fee will be applicable to all delegates and will include conference materials, a welcome reception, lunch and refreshments on Tuesday July 3 2012.  The registration fee is €95 (on or before May 9, 2012), €125 (after May 9, 2012), and €75 for full-time students (on or before May 9, 2012). The registration fee does not include the conference dinner, but delegates may attend the conference dinner for a supplementary charge.

Econometrics Summer School. Immediately following the conference on July 4 – 6, 2012 there will be an international summer school in ‘Discrete Choice Modeling’ with Professor William Greene of the Stern School of Business at New York University. Please click here for details if you wish to attend.
