Universität Passau

Germany's most beautiful campus

Something of importance that the population of Passau already knew, was confirmed in August 2009 in the national students' magazine UNICUM: The Universität Passau has the most beautiful campus in Germany. Located on the banks of the river Inn, a stone's throw from the attractive old town centre, the campus really is not only idyllic but also ultra-modern. It is a relatively new university, not founded until 1978, combining a most up-to-date infrastructure with (state of the art) technology, offering its almost 9,000 students an ideal place to study. There are around 35 different courses to choose from, ranging from Communication and Media Studies, Cultural Sciences, Computer Sciences and Information Technology to Law and Economics.

The ideal starting point for an international career

Owing to its international, achievement and practical orientation, the university has secured an excellent reputation in teaching and research. The opportunities provided here for language learning and student exchanges are unique in Germany. Students can choose from between 14 different languages, there are partnerships with 170 universities worldwide and the language training for specific branches, such as Law and Economics, puts the Universität Passau in an extremely competitive position.

The City of Three Rivers

With your choice of Passau you will find yourself studying in one of the most attractive cities in Germany. The beautiful, old baroque town centre, which dates back to the 17th century, the modern shopping centre with its excellent shopping facilities, are both very close to the
university itself. Whether you are looking for a modern cinema complex (also offering films in digital 3D), numerous music festivals, typical beer-gardens, bars and cafés or a variety of other cultural activities, all can be found in the "City of Three Rivers" - a city which is not
only an excellent place to study but an equally excellent place to live.
