2011 International PhD Students Conference on Institutions and economic performance

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the sixth annual edition of the Doctoral School of Economics International Conference  Institutions and economic performance which will be held at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, in Iasi, Romania from 18th  to 19th  of  November, 2011.

The overall aim of the conference is to provide a framework for academics, practitioners and young researchers to meet and exchange ideas and new research in the generous field of Institutional Economics. Our conference seeks to provide a framework for merging ideas from different fields of economics and business administration.

The conference is not only a forestage to present novel research; it also gives opportunities for new emergent ideas in economic science arising from both fundamental and cross disciplinary approaches to economic performance phenomenon.

The official language of the conference is English. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings with ISBN number, available for the participants after the conference. The deadline for submission of proposals is the 25th of October, 2011.

A selection of papers will be published in a special issue of the Review of Economic and Business Studies, journal accredited by the National University Research Council (CNCSIS) and indexed in international databases (RePEc, CEEOL, ICAAP, Ulrichs', Copernicus).

Call for papers

The conference aims at bringing together academics and young researchers from various fields with a keen interest on economics. At the same time, the conference will provide a venue for an interdisciplinary debate on economic issues. The organizers hope that the contributors will provide a valuable overview of the current trends in academic research within a larger context of the global impact on society and economy. The presenters are encouraged to emphasize on the role of education and research in Economics and Business Administration in an attempt to offer a better and more insightful understanding of the institutions and economic performance.

Guidelines for participants

 

Participants are expected to submit papers (research papers, review papers, research notes, Ph.D. research in progress, case studies and essays) which have not been publicly presented or published before. All accepted papers will be presented at the conference. The full papers presented at the conference will be published in the 2011 Conference Proceedings.  The official language of the conference is English.

Paper submission

1. Papers will be submitted on-line.
2. Papers will be written in English.
3. Papers must fall within one of the topic areas listed in the section Topics.
4. The deadline for paper submission is Ocotber 25th, 2011.
5. There is a limit of two contributed submissions per registered author, but only one of them as a first author.
6.The final paper must be submitted using the template form provided. The total length of the paper should not exceed 12 pages.

8. Authors will be notified of the acceptance/rejection of their paper by e-mail by June 5th, 2011.

Publication in Review of Economic and Business Studies

1.The best presented papers will be published in REBS.
