Traunmüller, Richard

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research (MZES) at the University of Mannheim. This personal homepage is dedicated to my ego, err, I mean work and research.

I was born in Linz/Austria but growing up, I called many places home, including Mexico, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Thailand. In 2007 I earned a degree in social sciences from Humboldt University of Berlin and went on to become a research assistant at the chair of comparative politics at the University of Konstanz. 2008, 2009, 2010 I participated in and in 2011 and 2012 I TAed for the Essex Summer School of Social Science Data Analysis at the University of Essex. In 2011 I received my PhD in political science (summa cum laude) from the University of Konstanz and then spent a year as lecturer in quantitative political sociology at the University of Berne in Switzerland. My work has appeared in Comparative Politics, European Journal of Political Research, European Sociological Review, Political Studies, and Swiss Political Science Review, amongst others. I was awarded the 2011 SOEP-Prize of the German Institute of Economic Research in the category Best Junior Publication for an article on religion and social capital.
