Battisti, Martina

Martina joined the New Zealand Centre for SME Research in 2007 as the principal researcher currently responsible for BusinesSMEasure and contract research. Prior to joining the New Zealand Centre for SME Research, she worked for four years as a researcher in the Department of Human Resource Management at the University of Applied Sciences Vorarlberg (Austria) where she successfully built up and led a research team. She has been involved in a large number of research contracts for external clients with primary responsibility for winning the contracts and acting as principal researcher and/or team leader. Martina has gained her academic qualification at the University of Innsbruck, Austria; a MSc and PhD in Psychology (both with distinction). After finishing her PhD Martina was awarded a Post-Doc-Scholarship for a research project on "Social Networks and Entrepreneurship" from the University of Innsbruck. Martina has several years of work experience in project management as well as a background in training and consulting.

Research Profile

In general, her research interest is in the field of “organisation studies”. As a researcher Martina is interested in the persons, the organisational structure, the culture and the interaction and dynamic between these facets of an organisation. She is not only interested in creating new knowledge, but also in transferring academic knowledge and research expertise to business community and to inform policy making.
