Resource Economics and Environmental Sociology (formerly Rural Economy) faculty and students pursue excellence in cutting edge socio-economic research and teaching.  

We offer graduate degrees in Agricultural and Resource Economics, Forest Economics, Rural Sociology, and Risk and Community Resilience.

We also offer joint degree programs with the School of Business and the Department of Economics. Undergraduate and graduate teaching and research is focused on: environmental economics, environmental sociology, forest economics, natural resource sociology, development sociology, development economics, production economics, industrial organization, food safety, markets and consumer studies, agricultural trade, agribusiness, Aboriginal and northern studies, co-operatives, and many other areas of study. ... more
