Social Capital Foundation
The Social Capital Foundation (TSCF) is an independent institution, free of any established political or economic interest. Its policies and decisions are sovereign and with no recourse. It does not receive support from governments, nor does it contribute to their funding. It is not for profit. Created in 2002, it is based in Belgium and Malta.

TSCF pursues the promotion of Social Capital. Social Capital is about revitalizing the community link, and can be defined as a set of mental dispositions and attitudes favoring cooperative behaviors within society.

TSCF supports approaches that contribute to re-orientating governmental and corporate policies as well as

personal behaviors on a daily basis, in order to ensure the development of Social Capital. It does this through research, publication, events, and by any means that may illuminate appropriate responses to the challenges and transformations of today's society. TSCF is the editor of The International Scope® Review, one of the most international peer-reviewed academic journals in the social and economic sciences.

TSCF's orientation emphasizes the necessary social dimension of the market economy, the pivotal role of the middle class in modern society, the necessity for improvement of social cooperation and participation, the autonomous development of a vibrant civil society, and the preservation of cultural identity for community integration.

We believe that state machinery and government intervention should be massively reduced. However, this process should not benefit solely a group of entrepreneurs or capital owners. In no way should it lead to the dismantlement of social rights, increased poverty and precariousness, and general selfishness - nor to a society prey to consumption values and mass immigration.

Society is not a simple collection of individuals. As research has demonstrated, the members of society form a whole, and are involved in a form of link based on shared values and other similarities. Wherever this link is strengthened, society becomes more cohesive, healthier and happier. The diminishment of governmental power can only take place if the organized civil society correlatively develops, and the community spirit gains strength. For this, we suggest a number of policies for the improvement of social cohesion, social capital and civic participation.
