Call for papers

The IAB Graduate School’s 3rd interdisciplinary Ph.D. workshop on Perspectives on (Un-) Employment aims at bringing together young researchers from different disciplines. The workshop will provide an opportunity for Ph.D. students to present and discuss their research in a constructive and international atmosphere. A number of experienced researchers will provide feedback and advice. The workshop will focus on but not be limited to empirical research in the following fields:

  • Labour market institutions and policies
  • Labour mobility and dynamics
  • Inequality and education
  • Qualification and skills
  • Regional disparities

IAB Graduate school

The IAB Graduate Programme (GradAB) is a joint programme of the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) and the School of Business and Economics of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. The programme offers a curriculum of different doctoral courses. The doctoral students work in the field of empirical and theoretical labour market research. The aim of the programme is to train outstanding junior researchers from the social sciences and economics disciplines in the field of labour market and occupational research.

Submission

The workshop is open to Ph.D. students at any stage of their work. If you are interested in presenting your research, submit an extended abstract (minimum of 2000 words) or a full paper in pdf format to [email protected]. An extended abstract can contain a summary of your Ph.D. project or a chapter of your dissertation thesis. The submission should include your contact information (name, affiliation and email address). Deadline for submission is July 2nd 2010. Notification of acceptance will be given by the end of August 2010.c
