International Conference of Applied Sciences (UUBK 2015) "Social Capital"

The First International Conference of Applied Sciences (UUBK 2015) will be held on 23-24 October 2015 in Konya, Turkey. This year’s theme is “social capital”. The conference is organized by the School of Applied Science at Konya Necmettin Erbakan University, in partnership with Konya University, Konya Metropolitan Municipality and Konya Governorship. The deadline for submission is June 15, 2015.

 

Call for papers

Social capital refers to the patterns of networks among individuals and groups. We believe that social capital is essential to social goods and growth. We hope that UUBK’2015 will be an exceptional venue for sharing information on contemporary approaches to social capital from around the World.

The main purpose of this conference is to encourage empirical and theoretical research studies on social capital. UUBK 2015 aims to provide a multi-disciplinary discussion platform for academics, researchers, and business professionals to exchange ideas and information. The topics of interest are as follows, but not limited to:

You are invited to present at the 2015 UUBK International Congress in Konya, Turkey and to share your expertise and knowledge with your peers.

Papers may be submitted in either English or Turkish. Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

About Konya, Turkey

Konya is now one of the highly developed cities of Anatolia, known as “cradle of civilizations”, and it’s known not only for being capital for Anatolian Seljukians and Karamanids but also Çatalhöyük, which is the location of first settled farming life in the world. Konya has a deep and vivid historical perspective with Mevlana Museum which is visited by hundreds of thousands of visitors, and historical buildings of both Seljukian and Ottoman era. Besides, it serves ideal conditions for high quality college life to young people with its nature, culture and social life.

With its two state universities and two colleges, Konya is now a city of universities, and the number of universities will increase soon. Two million people lives in Konya and its districts, downtown population reaches to a million, and seventy five thousands of them are university students, which comes from different towns of Turkey and different countries of world. Konya is just one hour and forty five minutes away from capital of Turkey, Ankara and it has an airport which offers several flights in a day to Istanbul and it takes fifty minutes of flight. It would be enough just about two and half hours of driving to arrive south beaches of Turkey.

Konya, which also draws attention with industrial progress in recent years, welcomes all the prospect students as a part of its cultural wealth with its comfortable movie theaters, lots of cafés, restaurants which also serves local tastes, shopping centers hosts worldwide brands, and its people who enjoys living together with university students.
