Conference
Halle Forum on Urban Economic Growth

Organized by  The Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) Halle, Germany, November 23, 2006

Scope of the Conference

Due to an increasing international competition between cities and city regions, determinants of economic growth become key factors in urban development. The growth performance of urban regions is to a great extent dependent on economic, political, cultural and social processes and on the relationships and interactions of urban actors. The Halle Forum on Urban Economic Growth focuses on factors of economic growth and development in urban environments. It is planned to establish the Halle Forum biannually at the Halle Institute for Economic Research (IWH) where scientists and practitioners are invited to exchange and discuss new research results on urban and regional economics.
