The Causes and Consequences of Happiness
Research center EHERO (Erasmus Happiness Economics Research Organisation) organizes a congress titled 'Advances in Happiness Economics' in Rotterdam on 28 and 29 October 2013. The congress offers developments in happiness research from three different perspectives: Economics, Philosophy, and Health Economics. During the congress there will be a workshop on The Causes and Consequences of Happiness. The deadline for submission is September 15, 2013.
Researchers from internationally renowned universities will present their latest research findings. The congress starts on Monday with a plenary session with Alois Stutzer (Basel), Ronnie Schöb (FU Berlin), and Eric Angner (George Mason).
During the remainder of Monday and on Tuesday there will be 3 different workshops.
Call for papers: Workshop ‘The Causes and Consequences of Happiness’
This workshop will bring together a group of economists to present and discuss work in progress on the causes and consequences of happiness. Priority will be given to papers with a credible research design that allows for the identification of causal effects. 12 papers will be presented over two days (30 minutes paper presentation, 5 minutes discussant, 10 minutes general discussion per paper). Each paper presenter will serve as discussant of one paper. The conference will comprise both invited and contributed papers. Confirmed speakers so far include Nick Powdthavee (LSE), Ghazala Azmat (QMU London), and Ronnie Schöb (FU Berlin).
Paper submission
A paper or extended abstract should be sent by e-mail to Robert Dur ([email protected]). The deadline for submission is 15 September 2013. Decisions will be taken before 22 September 2013. We will provide accommodation and reimburse economy travel costs for paper presenters.
